Wow!  Now that we’ve all had to say the “R” word, #2 isn’t a bad place to be.  Just out today according to Forbes.com, San Antonio is the second best place in the country that is recession proof.  Here’s what they say:

2. San Antonio, Texas

Median home price: +7.9%

Unemployment: 4% (from 4.3%)

Key growth: Construction, +6.3%; leisure and hospitality, +4.9%

San Antonio boasts solid employment numbers as well as rising home prices. Its industries are growing, and it can’t hurt that the new AT&T was formed when San Antonio-based SBC Communications swallowed the former AT&T Corp. and BellSouth. The home of the Alamo has leisure and hospitality growth in part from its appeal as a tourist destination.
